This Privacy Policy explains how FindIn collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our dating application.

1.2 Location Data

How Location Works:
- GPS location is only collected when you grant permission through your device settings
- Your precise coordinates are used to calculate distances and show nearby profiles — exact coordinates are never shown to other users
- Other users see only an approximate distance (e.g., "2 km away"), never your precise location
- You can disable location permissions at any time in your device settings; this will limit your ability to discover nearby matches
1.3 Device and Technical Information
We collect device and technical data to ensure platform security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version
- Device identifiers: App-scoped identifiers used for fraud prevention and ban enforcement
- IP address: Used for geolocation, fraud scoring, and abuse detection
- Security signals: Root/jailbreak status, emulator detection, VPN usage — used exclusively to detect fake accounts and prevent abuse

1.5 Authentication Data
We use Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in:
- Authentication credentials and tokens
- Session tokens (stored locally on your device)
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Core App Functionality
- Account Management: Create, maintain, and secure your account
- Matching: Show your profile to compatible users and show you potential matches based on location and preferences
- Messaging: Enable private conversations between matched users
- Location Features: Show nearby users and calculate distances
2.2 Personalization and Matching
- Suggest matches based on your location, preferences, age range, and relationship goals
- Improve the quality and relevance of your match recommendations over time
2.3 Communication
- Send push notifications for new matches, messages, and app updates
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Send important service announcements (security updates, policy changes)
2.4 Security and Safety
- Detect and prevent fraud, fake accounts, catfishing, and abuse
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Standards
- Investigate and respond to user reports
- Verify user ages and prevent underage access
4. Data Retention and Deletion
4.1 How Long We Keep Your Data
We only keep your data for as long as you use FindIn. We do not hold on to your information beyond that.

4.2 Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete
The moment you confirm deletion, everything is gone — your profile, photos, messages, matches, and any other data we hold about you. We do not keep copies. There are no backups. It is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and we'll take care of it within 7 days.
5. Data Security
5.1 Technical Safeguards
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive data, including messages and profile information, is encrypted when stored on our servers
- Secure Authentication: Firebase Authentication provides industry-standard secure login
- Message Encryption: Private messages are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are not stored as plain text. Note: this is not end-to-end encryption — FindIn does not read your messages but they are not inaccessible to us for safety enforcement purposes
5.2 Limitations
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but continuously work to maintain and improve our security practices.
6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Update Your Information
You can access and update your profile information, photos, and preferences at any time within the App.
6.2 Control Location Sharing
You can disable location permissions at any time in your device settings (Settings > Apps > FindIn > Permissions > Location). Disabling location will limit your ability to see nearby matches.
6.3 Data Portability
You can request a copy of your data by emailing [email protected]. We will provide your data in a structured format within 7 days.
6.4 Rights for Specific Regions
For Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, opt-out of sale (we do not sell data), correct, and non-discrimination.
7. Children's Privacy
Age Requirement: FindIn is strictly intended for users aged 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
- If you are under 18, do not use this App or provide any personal information
- If we discover that a user under 18 has created an account, we will immediately and permanently delete it
- If you believe a minor is using the App, please report it at [email protected]
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification and/or email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of FindIn after policy changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
